Deputy President William Ruto's presidential ambition has received a major boost after, at least 10 MP from Gusiiland, vowed to stand with him until he rises to power.
The leaders, who spoke at Igare Seventh Day Adventist church on Saturday, said that Ruto has what it takes to rise to power after President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves office in 2022.
The lawmakers affirmed that DP Ruto has proven that he can do better as far as development is concerned when compared to other candidates who have declared interest in the top seat.
Led by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, the leaders vowed to stand with Ruto until he rises to the top seat when that time comes. The leaders called upon the residents to stand with the DP during the contest for power.
“We are not blinded by anything when we decided to support him, it is only that DP Ruto comes forth as the best alternative to succeed President Uhuru by virtue of what he can do for this country and us as a community,” said Nyamoko.
The other leaders who have promised to stand with Ruto are Innocent Obiri (Bobasi), Martius Robi (Kuria West), Alfer Miruka (Bomachoge Chache), Ezekiel Machogu (Nyaribari Masaba), Oroo Oyioka (Bonchari) Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Vincent Kemosi,(West Mugirango).
