This comes amid growing hostility between allies of Deputy President William Ruto and those allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In a tweet on Friday, Dida warned that if not tamed, the hostility might soon drip down to the supporters of the three leaders and lead to political unrest calling on the three leaders to dialogue.

"In 2007, many Kenyans were killed and many more displaced because Rt Hon Raila and HE Kibaki and their teams delayed to sit and resolve 2007 electoral differences. Historically, humans don't learn. Case, WW1, WW2, (WW3). It is time for HE Uhuru, Hon Raila and DP Ruto to sit down," he wrote.

While Ruto has not at any point attacked the president, he has been lately been firing salvos at the former Prime Minister, accusing him of trying to wreck the ruling Jubilee Party.

Raila's allies have hinted that he might take a fifth shot at the presidency in the 2022 polls, which would make him Ruto's chief rival since the DP's bid is already in the open.
