Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has promised to hire a lawyer to represent Joseph Irungu alias Jowie in court if he will need one.
Babu Owino has accused the Judiciary of applying double standards where the poor are not dealt with in a similar way the rich.
"If Jowie needs a lawyer and cannot afford one, I will cater the costs," he said as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
Jowie who is the prime suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani has been in custody for months after he was denied bail by Justice James Wakiaga.
However, his co-suspect, alleged lover, media personality Jackie Maribe, was released on bond.
The MP had earlier through a Facebook post alleged that the judiciary was being used.
"When Governor Obado was alleged to have murdered he was given a cash bail/bond term. When Sarah Wairimu was alleged to have murdered Cohen She was released on Cash bail/bond. JOWI should be given cash bail/bond term by the judiciary and when found guilty be jailed," Babu Owino posted on Facebook, Friday.
"Marxism’s of law is that Equity is equality. He who comes to Equity must come with clean hands. Is it coz JOWI is poor that’s why he is being frustrated by the Rich," he added
Monica Kimani's body was found in her apartment in Kilimani area in Nairobi.
