Thirdway Alliance boss Dr Ekuru Aukot has dismissed the planned launching of the Building Bridges Initiative report as an exercise in futility.
BBI chairman Yusuf Haji on Friday said the report will be officially handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga on Tuesday next week.
“It is now our privilege to inform the public that an appointment to hand the report to his Excellency the President has been arranged for November 26,” the task force said in the statement.
While speaking in Bungoma on Friday, President Uhuru also confirmed the date with the team, adding that Kenyans should read the report before criticising it.
Aukot now says the report is predetermined, adding that it's not for the public interest. He also termed it unconstitutional.
During the BBI launch, Aukot said, his team will unveil People's 'Punguza Mizigo phase II' which he now says is a refined version of the previous one.
"They've said they shall be releasing their predetermined report on Tuesday next week. It is their right, but guess what? We shall be launching the PEOPLE'S Punguza Mizigo Kenya phase 2."
"It is carefully redrafted and well thought out after receiving the public views. #PMK dawa yao," tweeted Aukot.
In October, Aukot's popular initiative dubbed Punguza Mizigo technically flopped after failing to get support from a minimum of 24 county assemblies.
Uhuru and Raila have insisted that BBI will help Kenyans to redefine their destiny, urging everyone to embrace it.
