The whereabouts of a 25-year-old man are unknown after he fled from Nyamira County Hospital where he had been taken for treatment.
According to Monicah Nyanyuki, her son Otiso Nyanyuki developed a mental problem and was rushed to Nyamira Hospital for treatment.
Monicah said her son escaped from the hospital on October 5, 2019.
"My son development a mental problem forcing neighbours to tie him up and took him to Nyamira Hospital for treatment. Upon reaching the hospital, doctors untied him for an injection to calm him down only for him to overpower them and escaped from the hospital," said the mother as reported by Egesa FM.
She said efforts by doctors to get to reach was futile.
Monicah argued that her son fled towards Nyabite road.
Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba confirmed the incident saying a search for Otiso is ongoing.
"Police are searching for the man whose whereabouts until today remains unknown. Any member of the public who may spot him should report to police or local chief since his family is undergoing through difficult moments," Mariba stated.
