Renowned lawyer Donald Kipkorir has weighed in on the swearing-in of Dr James Nyoro as the third governor of Kiambu.
Through his Twitter account on Friday, Kipkorir said that the development was a writing on the wall for Tangatanga, a political grouping of legislators who support the 2022 presidential ambitions of Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
The lawyer added that the swearing-in was an indication that the governing Jubilee party had moved on.
"End of an Error .... Dr. James Nyoro sworn as Kiambu Governor and REAL Jubilee Party has moved on .... TangaTanga should read the writing on the Wall: Mene, mene, tekel, upharsin!" the renowned lawyer said.
Dr Nyoro assumed the reins of power as Kiambu governor on Friday following the impeachment of former governor Ferdinand Waititu on Wednesday by the Senate.
The former governor is fighting in the courts to reverse the swearing in ceremony even though his earlier attempts were rejected by the courts.
Nyoro and Waititu had been locked in a brutal and very public battle over the direction that the Kiambu county should take.
Waititu troubles started last year after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said that it would seek to charge him with corruption.
