Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i reckons that power comes and goes but he is determined to make a difference in the next few years he will be on scene.
Dr Matiang'i was elevated by President Uhuru Kenyatta to coordinate and monitor government projects, a move that makes him at times chair cabinet.
Recently, Uhuru moved Presidential Delivery Unit to Dr Matiang'i's house, a move that makes him have powers similar to those of a Prime Minister.
Speaking on Friday at Nyanturago village, Dr Matiang'i said he will not be on scene forever, adding that he's determined to make a difference.
"My friends, power comes and goes. What matters most is the difference you make to our people whenever you're in such a position," he said.
"Today it can be me, tomorrow it will be someone else. Let us work together and ensure we have made a difference. I am determined to deliver."
Dr Matiang'i on Friday announced plans to have Nyamira County Referral Hospital expanded, saying that he's in touch with Governor John Nyagarama.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi asked him to work closely with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, arguing that the ODM leader will easily show him the way.
"Dr Matiang'i you should now work closely with Jakom (Raila). He is always with you and he understands many things in this country."
