Renowned economist David Ndii has faulted the move by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga to work with the Jubilee administration.
On March 9, 2018, Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta put aside their differences and pledged to work together and established Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which was mandated to find solutions to Kenya's longstanding challenges.
Ndii now claims he warned the former prime minister against joining Uhuru, but his advice fell on deaf years.
Responding to a tweep who challenged him to help the government turnaround the collapsing economy, the Oxford University-trained economist said his calls have always been ignored, adding Kenya will only be delivered through an uprising.
"You aren’t hearing me. You didn't listen when turn around was possible. We passed tipping about a year ago. Now its either Ethiopia (regime change) or Sudan (revolution) scenario. I advised Raila not to jump into sinking ship, he disagreed. Choices. Consequences," he said on Tuesday.
A tweep, Joe Ngugi, had urged Ndii to use Raila to get into the government to offer guidance in policy formulation instead of being a critic of the ruling administration.
"You may have good intentions, but until you prove you can turnaround the economy, criticism may not help us. Use your closeness to Baba to influence the planning and economics policy that can at least halt the free fall," Ngugi tweeted.
