Pundits have observed that the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led side might not survive until 2022, due to the ongoing infighting and a widening rift between forces allied to him and his deputy William Ruto.

However, the MP on Wednesday stated that the party still boasts of good membership, adding that though it is experiencing some problems, it will survive the wrangles and recover.

"Jubilee still has members, it will clean itself and come back to its feet. This doesn't mean it has collapsed (Jubilee bado iko na watu, itajiosha na itasimama. Hii sio kusema eti imekufa)," he said on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen show.

This comes only days after the MP predicted doom for the party, saying that it has lost its grassroots support and is now headed to death, terming it a mere election vehicle.

Ngunjiri had made the remarks on Radio Jambo, where he also accused Uhuru of contributing to the infighting, by failing to unite the party members.

"A party without grassroots support is a finished one. It was just an election vehicle (Kama Chama haina grassroots support imeisha. Hiyo ilikuwa tu gari ya kushinda uchaguzi)," he said.

After months of denying there are cracks in Jubilee, Ruto on Tuesday admitted that the party is having issues, noting that it is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

"Yes there is a rift in Jubilee fuelled by political factions, some are for 'punguza mizigo' while others for 'ongeza mzigo' initiatives. All these have brought confusion in Jubilee," he said.
