World Marathon Champion Eliud Kipchoge has spoken after making history in Vienna, Austria. Kipchoge, who is entering the Guinness World Book of Record for running 42 kilometres in 1.59.40 said that he is the happiest man in the world. He encouraged human beings to run for the sake of their health. He also thanked his pacesetters for assisting him to make history.

“I’m feeling good, the first man to run the marathon under two hours and hopefully this inspires mankind. The race was difficult especially the first kilometre which needed a lot of concentration. I want to thank my pacesetters who are a world-class group."“I want to make this sport exciting and transform the world into a running world. I thank the fans who watched me for being part of this journey…this is history,” Kipchoge said.Kipchoge was received by his wife when he crossed the finishing line. Leaders led by Deputy President Wiliam Ruto travelled to Vienna to support him in the race. DP Ruto was accompanied by Governors Stephe Sang (Nandi) and Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu. Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are among those who have congratulated him after the race.
