Currently, the leader is a member of the ailing National Super Alliance (NASA), which he formed in the run-up to the 2017 poll before ODM leader Raila Odinga took it over.

Speaking during a funeral service in Mululu village in his Sabatia backyard on Saturday, the former Vice President said that he might come up with another alliance.

"NASA may face turbulent times but I believe the people-based ideals for which I formed it will find ventilation in another formidable force where there is political hygiene,” he said.

He added that he is not perturbed that “political confidence tricksters" have spearheaded the collapse of NASA, saying that the unnamed persons are out to derail democracy.

He claimed that the people have been engaging in politics of dishonesty since they cannot stand decency which he stands for, in an apparent reference to Raila and his ODM team.

Lately, Mudavadi has been locked in a verbal war with ODM leadership, in a rivalry that began when he skipped Raila's January 30, 2018, mock presidential coronation in Uhuru Park.

Earlier in the month, he attacked Raila during the Kibra by-election campaigns, where they both fielded candidates. ODM's Imran Okoth won, while ANC's Eliud Owalo was a distant third.

Also being fought over is the political parties fund, which ODM has refused to share with ANC and fellow NASA member-parties Ford Kenya and Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM).
