Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has thrown a jab at Agricultural Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Wambugu said that Kiunjuri has proven that he is incompetent.
Wambugu said that Kiunjiri is only good at speaking fluent Kikuyu language including sayings. He argued that there is nothing Kiunjuri can boast of in terms of achievements since he was given the position.
“Kiunjuri is 100% incompetent. Kiunjuri has been a CS in this government for 5 years. I would like someone to tell me one thing that he has achieved in that time. (well ... except speak Kikuyu methalis,” he posed.
The lawmaker argued that the CS is likely to lament that he was fired because of engaging in politics of the Mt Kenya region if President Uhuru Kenyatta decides to fire him. The lawmaker said that CS has not addressed the plight of farmers among other issues in his docket.
“He has been Minister of Agriculture. He could not fix our tea, coffee & milk industry. Could not even implement a water-pan policy decision effectively! But when he’s finally fired he will try and lie to us it’s because he is doing politics and is being stopped from taking over from Uhuru as next Mt Kenya kingpin," he argued.
The legislator also said that he will not stop telling Kenyans the truth as long as he remains in the political scene. He noted that Kiunjuri is among the overrated leaders from the region, adding that he should consider discharging his duties and not engaging in sideshows as he has been doing in the recent past.
“Fortunately we will be here to tell him off, and tell the public the truth - in details - about why he had to leave the government,” he added.
