Police in Nairobi have arrested a wanted conman who has been on the police radar over allegations of obtaining money from numerous people through fraudulent ways.
The suspect who has been identified as Zachary Mwangi Kariuki alias 'Muru Wa Tetu' was nabbed by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday.
The DCI in a tweet Sunday said that after his arrest, many people came forth with complains that they have fell victims of his games and that he has fraudulently stolen from them.
"47-year-old Zachary MWANGI Kariuki alias Muru wa Tetu- WANTED by Kibera Law Courts for Failing to attend Court, was today arrested by Flying Squad Detectives. Upon his arrest, several members of the Public came out with various complaints of obtaining money by False Pretences," the DCI said.
The suspect was a sought after man after a magistrate at the Kibera Law Courts issued a warrant of arrest against him after failing to avail himself before the court has had been directed.
Before his arrest, the DCI had published his images on its Twitter account to warn Kenyans against playing along with his games, or risk being defrauded, reports the Capital News.
He is set to appear in court on Monday.
