Popular Kenyan gospel artist Willy Paul has released a new song titled 'Lamba Nyonyo'. The song gained more than 9,000 views and 500 comments within 4 hours of its premier on YouTube.
Unlike most of Willy Paul's songs, 'Lamba Nyonyo' has been uploaded on YouTube as audio without a video. The song has also been uploaded on Saldido Records' YouTube channel unlike most of the songs which he uploads on his personal YouTube channel.
The content of the new song is, however, a little bit controversial as it is not gospel in nature as one would expect from a gospel artist.
This comes at a time when questions have been raised on whether Willy Paul has moved to secular or is still a gospel artist. The 'Hallelujah' singer nonetheless recently during an interview insisted that he is still a gospel artist despite singing secular songs.
"So I am an artist, and if I feel like singing about love I will sing, if I feel like doing worship I will do it (So mi ni msanii, na nikiamka leo niskie nataka kuimba mapenzi nitaimba, nikiskia nataka kufanya worship nitafanya )," Willy Paul stated during the interview on Milele fm a few days ago.
Willy Paul has however not spoken about the song in details.
