Police in Eldoret on Sunday arrested two suspects accused of selling fake Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) calling letters.

According to Uasin Gishu County Commander Johnston Ipara, the suspects were arrested at Pemugi hotel along Maili Tisa road.

“Due to the public outcry of increased of people being given KDF fake calling letters our officers arrested two suspects namely, Erick Kiptoo and Cornel Kipyego Maiyo who is the leader of the group,” said the Uasin Gishu County Commander.

Ipara who spoke to the press at the Eldoret Central Police station on Sunday said the two will be arraigned.

“They were arrested after they tried to cone a resident who was in dire need of a job sh 50,000 to secure a place in KDF recruitment school in Eldoret and was supposed to report on November 27, 2019,” said Ipara.

Ipara advised Kenyans to be on the lookout as such cases have increased and Kenyans are losing a lot of money to similar schemes.
