Speaking at Rurinja Grounds, Njabini Town, Nyandarua County, Ruto said those opposed to his donations in churches are sorcerers.

He vowed to continue supporting churches across the country in development matters.

In what seems to be a veiled attack at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Ruto said that he will remain committed to donating in churches.

“Those opposed to my support to the church are sorcerers who will never succeed in anything,” said the DP, as quoted by Daily Nation.

Ruto also urged leaders to avoid engaging in divisive politics before 2022, adding that he is committed to ensuring government projects are completed in time.

The DP was accompanied by Governor Francis Kimemia who lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta following the construction of a road to connect Nyandarua and Murang’a counties to ease transport in the regions.

Leaders allied to Raila have been faulting Ruto over donations to churches. The leaders want the DP grilled over the source of his wealth.

They claim he has been using underhand tactics to create wealth. Ruto has, however, insisted that he makes money through hard work and sacrifice.

Led by National Assembly Minority leader John Mbadi, the leaders want church donations capped at Sh100,000.
