Kitany said that her uncle asked her whether her then-boyfriend Linturi was married or divorced.

She was also asked whether she was certain about the intentions of the senator; whether he was genuinely in love with her or was just motivated by money.

In her response, the now estranged wife of the Meru Senator said that she told her uncle that Linturi was divorced and that she was certain that their relationship was a genuine love relationship.

"The first question was whether Mithika Linturi was divorced or was still married which I confirmed he was divorced. And the second question was whether I'm for sure certain about my relationship with him that it is a genuine love relationship or he is coming for your money, " she told the court.

She was also asked if she was sure about moving forward with wedding preparations and she replied in the affirmative.

The new revelations added another layer of drama to a very public divorce proceeding characterised by salacious details that have kept Kenyans on their seats like a Mexican telenovela.

While Linturi maintains that Kitany was never her wife, she maintains they were married.
