Speaking during an interview with Pwani Radio on Tuesday, Kanze said that the two leaders agreed to work together for the sake of national unity.

She said that the handshake was reached at a time when the country was facing one of the most difficult times in its history.  She noted that through the Building Bridges Initiative, Kenya has realised great improvement.

“The coming together and the handshake between the President and the Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga which gave birth to the Building Bridges Initiative is aimed at putting the collective interests of the country ahead of selfish agenda,” she said.

She also asked Kenyans to back President Kenyatta’s call not to engage in politics at the expense of development. She noted that politics have ruined the lives of millions of Kenyans. Dena further said that through the handshake Kenya is destined for greatness.

“As Kenyans, we should heed the President's call and stop the politicization of the fight against corruption. Some of those shouting the loudest are doing so to shield themselves from the law,” she added.

Uhuru and Raila have vowed not to part ways until they achieve the Big Four Agenda. They have been pleading with Kenyans to back the handshake.
