Former Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe has blasted fellow Mt Kenya politicians for engaging in empty politics, which stands to benefit nobody.
Speaking on Wednesday, the former lawmaker stressed on the need for area politicians to focus on important matters, which will bring about the development they are demanding.
He cautioned against the ongoing trend where the political class in the area are more interested in individuals and the 2022 polls, which he pointed out will not being any returns.
"If the issue is development. why are we then spending our time discussing individuals and 2022 instead of focusing and debating on matters of development in the region," he said.
Mutahi Kagwe made the remarks on KTN's Pointblank on Wednesday night.
He also admitted that the region is currently politically heating up, which has been openly visible, with politiccians taking sides, two years to the actual polls.
According to Mutahi Kagwe, politics is more concentrated in the region than any other osrt of the nation.
"The political divide in Kenya is much more concentrated in Central Kenya than anywhere else," he added.
His remarks come at a time when area politicians have been engaging in constant politics, despite warnings from President Uhuru Kenyatta, the region's kingpin.
