Speaking on Sunday on Punchline program aired on K24 TV, the renowned lawyer rejected claims the money raised could not be accounted for.

He said between five to six million Kenya shillings was raised and that all the amount went into the funerals of the victims.

"If you look at the accounts, NASA and the party ODM used every coin to go to the funeral expenses," Senator Orengo said.

Orengo's response came after it was put to him by the program's host Anne Kiguta that Amani National Congress (ANC) partly leader Musalia Mudavadi said he didn't know what happened to the amount that was collected.

The Senator took a swipe at Mudavadi, saying he never attended the functions organised on behalf of the victims' of the post-poll mayhem.

He contended that the former vice president claimed he didn't know what happened to the money because it was politically convenient to do so, and not because his claims had substance.

Orengo expressed his gratitude to Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris for managing the account very well.
