Speaking on Tuesday, the legislator said only the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) conducted a nomination exercise, adding that other parties only conducted selections.

"The only party that did nominations in Kibra is ODM; other parties did not do nominations... they did selections! I want to tell Jubilee, ANC, Tangatanga and others that Kibra belongs to ODM (Kile chama ambacho kimefanya nominations nchini katika uchaguzi huu wa Kibra ni ODM; wale wengine hawakufanya nominations…walifanya selection!Nawaambia Jubilee, ANC, Tangatanga na hao wengine wajitayarishe kwani Kibra ni ODM), " the Suna East legislator said.

Imran Okoth beat nine other aspirants in the ODM nomination exercise on Saturday and was set to be issued with the party's certificate on Tuesday by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga

A meeting was held after Imran's victory between Odinga and the aspirants who sought the ODM ticket.

It was aimed at placating aspirants who were disappointed with the way the nomination was conducted.

Mr Odinga announced on Tuesday that all the aspirants who lost had pledged to support Okoth.

The Kibra constituency seat fell vacant after the death of the late former legislator Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer in July.
