Konoin Sub-County Police Commander Alex Shikondi confirmed the arrest revealing that the suspect was on Saturday evening caught by police officers after they had launched a manhunt.

“Police officers have arrested the suspect at Mogogosiek trading centre while armed with the panga which is the killer weapon. He has been placed in custody as investigations continue ahead of being arraigned,” said Shikondi on Sunday morning as quoted by Daily Nation

Langat, a resident of Shiomo village in Cheptalal Sub-Location, Konoin Constituency was reported to have had a domestic quarrel with his wife which later turned out to be a horrific sinister.

He accused his wife of misusing the money he had given her to purchase four kilos of maize flour and that her Early Childhood Education Development (ECED) job should as well enable her to feed the family.

The man later followed the family who had sought refuge in their relative's house where he killed the two sons.

''He slashed the children – Six-year-old Boaz Kipkirui and four-year-old Elivias Kipkemoi – with a sharp panga and disappeared into the night as the alarm was raised attracting villages who rushed to the scene only to find the children lying in a pool of flood,” said Shikondi.

The bodies were later transferred to Kapkatet Hospital Mortuary.

The man is expected to face manslaughter charges in a court of law.
