Nominated Senator Rose Nyamunga has thrown her weight behind Imran Okoth for the Kibra parliamentary seat.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, the former Kisumu Woman Representative declared support for Imran, terming him the best man to continue the job his late brother Ken Okoth had began.
She said Imran is competent, and able to protect Okoth's legacy, and will be seeking to help deliver the seat to him.
"First is to deliver the Kibra seat to ODM. I support Bernard Okoth because of three good reasons namely; competence, continuity and protecting the late Ken Okoth's legacy," she said.
The November 7 mini poll will see Imran battle it out with among others, footballer McDonald Mariga of Jubilee party, Khamisi Butichi of Ford Kenya, and ANC's Eliud Owalo.
Imran has also received endorsements from a section of Jubilee politicians led by nominated MP Maina Kamanda, who are opposed to Mariga's candidature.
ODM has since kicked off door-to-door campaigns as it seeks to retain a constituency that has for years been considered its political backyard.
