Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha on Monday noted that the form one selection will kick off on Tuesday.
Speaking at the Kenya National Examinations Council headquarters in Nairobi, Magoha pointed out that this will give parents good time for preparations.
“Form One selection to start tomorrow so that parents can have time to prepare. By December 2, all pupils will have known which school they are going to,” said Education CS Magoha as quoted by K24 Digital.
The education CS also assured that all pupils who sat for the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCPE) will be admitted to secondary schools.
In his speech, he also revealed that money has been set aside to improve the infrastructure in both primary and secondary schools.
More so, Magoha noted that scholarships for needy students have been set aside.
“The Government will provide 9,000 scholarships. In his wisdom this afternoon that part of those scholarships must go to slums in cities: Mombasa, Kisumu, Nairobi, Kisumu and others,” said Prof Magoha as quoted by K24 Digital.
The KCPE results were released on Monday. The top students was Andy Michael Munyiri, who scored 440 marks.
This year's examinations were ran smoothly across the country.
