In a tweet on Tuesday, the lawyer condemned the lawmaker for what he termed as disrespecting the gospel. He said it is unfortunate that the legislator could do such a thing.

He said that church wouldn’t have allowed the MP to praise the second in command using worship in a church event over the weekend.

The lawyer termed the actions of the MP as blasphemous because many Christians identify with the worship song in churches.

“As Pedigree Roman Catholic, if John Cardinal Njue will not defrock & cause excommunication Of the Parish Priest Of St. Jude Catholic Church, Bumula, Bungoma for Sacrilege, I will Petition His Holiness Pope Francis. Aisha Jumwa desecrated our altar. We worship a Living God,” he said.

Jumwa has continued to face fierce criticism following the incident.

The lawmaker has vowed to stand with Ruto in the 2022 Presidential race.

She has affirmed that Ruto is the best candidate to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta once he completes his second and final term in government.
