A section of leaders led by Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi held a funds drive to raise money for the families of two victims who lost their lives during the 14 Riverside terrorist attack.

The leaders came together to support the families after losing two members during the attack on January 15, this year.

Ms Gedi through her Facebook page said they managed to raise a total of Sh21 million which will be given to the families of Abdalla and Feisal from Wajir County.

Also present during the funds drive included MP Yussuf Hassan, businessmen, and religious leaders.

“I, together with Kamkunji Member of Parliament, Hon. Yussuf Hassan, we coordinated a fund drive meant to raise money for the families of Abdalla & Feisal who died in a terrorist attack at the Dusit 2. A total of Ksh 21M was raised using the combined efforts of Goodwill of fellow national leadership, Wajir women caucuses, businessmen, religious leaders and the other good people.”

“At this moment of trial, We hope that our Lord brings to their families the much-needed comfort and peace. Profound gratitude goes to the organizers of this great event. Thank you! God bless!” said Ms Gedi on Facebook.

Following the terror attack, Ms Gedi through her Twitter account mentioned the death of two young men, Feysal Rashid Haji, and Abdalla Sheikh Mohamed Dahir, from Wajir County who died during the attack.
