He told her that he was stressed out.

The Monday incident was confirmed by Masii OCS Geoffrey Muchai.

Muchai told Hivisasa on phone that the deceased had texted his sister-in-law telling him about his troubles.

"A man, aged 30, took his life by hanging himself from the roof of his house," said the OCS adding that "when members of his family rushed to save him, he had already died."

Wambua Kilunda a youth leader from the area now holds that there is a need for youths to be advised on how to tackle issues affecting them.

He observed that a lot of youths are committing suicide out of depression and despair.

He urged parents and church leaders to engage the youth and help them out in issues that may be affecting them.

"Let them be assured of help, they should not be ignored whenever they are faced with problems because this is leading them to suicide. Let's save the future of our youths," he said.

Several suicide cases have been reported in Machakos in the past few months, beckoning leaders to step in and save the situation.
