In a tweet on Monday, the city lawyer pointed out that Collymore only relied on his salary and bonuses.

Kipkorir juxtaposed Collymore's life to that of a typical Kenyan, noting that he lived a simple life.

"If Bob Collymore was a native Kenyan, he would have been a Billionaire .... Every CEO in Kenyan (sic) is richer than the State Corporation they head ... Bob relied on his salary & bonus only ... Bob Collymore was a good man in life & in death ... #RipBobCollymore," he said.

Kipkorir praised Collymore for being a true leader who never engaged in corrupt deals to make himself rich.

He also lauded him for creating time for his friends despite his busy schedule.

"Bob Collymore is an exemplar Of integrity, fortitude and leadership excellence. Inspite of heading the biggest company in Eastern Africa and having Cancer, he had time for his friends. He always saw me when I asked. Always called or texted back. Few Kenyans in top leadership compare," he added.

Collymore died on Monday morning at his home after a long battle with cancer. His death is a big blow to Safaricom and Kenya at large for losing one of the best CEOs.
