Deputy President William Ruto has urged leaders from both political divides to embrace unity.
Speaking on Saturday at the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Njabini, Kinangop, Nyandarua County, Ruto said that the politics of unity will make it easier for President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver on his promises before he completes his second and final term in power.
Ruto, who is considered as one of the front runners in the race for power, said that the Jubilee government has good plans for the people of this nation.
“Let us advance the politics of unity, equity and public participation on matters that directly impact wananchi. That way, we can continue to represent a proactive, responsive government that enhances the wellbeing of the population,” he said.
The remarks of the second in command come at a time the war against graft has gained momentum.
In the fight against graft, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji directed for the arrest of National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and his Principal Secretary Thugge Kamau over the alleged loss of funds in the multimillion Arror-Kimwarer Dam Project in the Rift Valley.
The duo denied the charges leveled against them when they appeared in Court on Tuesday last week.
