Uasin Gishu deputy governor Daniel Chemno on Friday officially opened Eldo City Bama Hotel situated along Iten road. Chemno says the hotel will also help in job creation for jobless youths in the county who have tarmacked for many years.
“As a government, we aim to support both small and large businessmen but creating a good working environment for them to conduct their businesses without any difficulties,” said the Uasin Gishu deputy governor.
Chemno who spoke to the press after officially opening the hotel on Friday encouraged Small and Medium Enterprises to take advantage of government incentives to squeeze into new businesses.
“SMEs need to take advantage of the ample business environment created by the government and venture into export and import business going forward. The SME's sector is fast thriving and is a crucial hinge that moves the country's economy," Chemo added.
Moiben Member of parliament Silas Tiren who was also present called on both the County and National governments to support Small-scale Entrepreneurs has to be supported because they create employment opportunities for the youth, therefore, realizing the Big 4 agenda.
Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker David Kiplagat who also graced the occasion said the County Assembly will continue to support startups by creating a conducive environment to start and run a business through legislation and oversight.
Clement Kipya the owner and director of Eldo City Hotel Bama said the hotel will provide quality African food and that it will employ over 30 youths.
He called on the government to reduce taxes on the business people since the economy is bad and soon they will close their businesses if nothing is done.
