A section of Mt Kenya leaders are now accusing Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga of engineering the ruling Jubilee Party's woes.
This comes amid open cracks within the party, which has seen the emergence of disagreements and internal fights among party members allied to rival sides.
Chuka Igambangombe MP Patrick Munene and Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Beatrice Nkatha on Sunday heaped the blame on Raila who reached a truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta in May last year.
They alleged that the former Prime Minister has been allowed too deep into the party affairs, hence his ability to cause confusion and now want him out.
The duo said that Raila has encroached into the Jubilee "bedroom" and should be kicked out to allow the President and his deputy William Ruto to "plan their family".
The leaders further pledged their full support for Ruto's 2022 bid to succeed Uhuru, in contravention to Uhuru's calls upon politicians to cease focusing on matters politics.
Their remarks came shortly after Ruto accused Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju of doubling up as the opposition chief strategist.
However, both Raila and Uhuru have insisted that their handshake had no political dimensions, while the ODM boss has as well remained silent on his 2022 intentions.
