Kenyans from various tribes have various forms of administering punishment to community members who go astray in a bid to maintain law and order.
In a tiny village in Tana River County, there exists a form of punishment that is just out of this world.
Members of the Iluan Community in Mambo Sasa village punish wrongdoers by smearing pepper in their private parts, be it a man or a woman.
One of the wrongs that can land one the severe punishment is delivering a baby out of a health facility.
According to NTV, executors of this punishment call themselves moral cops.
The punishment was recently meted out on Aisha Jumwa (not the Malindi MP) after she delivered on the roadside, on her way to the hospital.
“When I delivered on the roadside, people came and assisted and took me home. They then told me I did something wrong. I was fined, caned and the pepper administered. My private parts are really itching,” said Jumwa in the video shared on YouTube.
Her husband underwent the same punishment.
Mwanaharusi Mohammed who is one of the moral corps said the pepper is crushed and water is added before it is smeared in the private parts of an offender.
“We also have a cane used for canning the offenders so that they can know that they did was wrong,” Mohammed said.
