Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'ah has taken a swipe at police over the running battles that were witnessed in Mombasa on Friday.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was blocked from addressing the press by rowdy youths who accused her of creating divisions.
Ichungw'ah has now accused police of taking sides during such confrontations, arguing that it's becoming a breeding ground for political violence.
"Of course @HonJumwa &@MohaJichoPevu are politicians who can afford Nrb Hospital bills that’s why the police will not see this nor act but will teargas lawyers& politicians inside Kilimani police station.@IG_NPS This is how you breed and nurture political violence.STOP IT now," he tweeted.
A couple of weeks ago, a section of MPs were flushed out of Kilimani Police Station when they showed up in solidarity with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
Ms Jumwa on Friday proceeded to coast consultative meetings despite having raised concerns about the Building Bridges Initiative rallies which are expected to be held on Saturday.
“Although we feel the BBI meetings are being secretly organised, we are determined to be part and parcel of any forum that discusses Coast issues,” said Ms Jumwa.
Leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto have been accusing the police of showing outright bias when handling serious matters.
