President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday signed into law the second Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2019.

In a tweet, the State House noted that the bill will see the release of Sh73.4 billion from the Consolidated Fund. 

The money will be used for various projects and services sponsored by the government until June 2020. 

''President Uhuru Kenyatta has signed into law the Second Supplementary Appropriation Bill of 2019 paving the way for the release of Shs 73.4 billion that will go towards funding various government services and projects for the period ending 30th June 2020,'' wrote State House

The signing of the Appropriation Bill into law was, however, not approved by the National Assembly. This is because Article 223 of the Constitution allows the government to spend money for emergency purposes even without the approval of the National Assembly. 

The government is putting in place various measures to curb droughts, floods and insecurity in the country. 

The country which is currently experiencing heavy rains and that affected need help from the government as fast as possible. 

Various people have already been displaced from their homes as the rains cause havoc, leaving such people to depend on the government.

Roads are also being damaged, making it impassable in various parts of the country. 

The Appropriation Bill funds will be used to solve such emerging incidences in the country.
