Amid the political divide that is continuing to surround the Building Bridges Initiative report, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has now questioned why "BBI implementation has been made a secretive process."
Speaking during the funeral of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua's mother in Nyeri on Tuesday, the fiery lawmaker claimed no one is opposing BBI, adding that the funds set aside for its implementation should be channeled to Big Four Agenda projects.
"Where are the promised BBI report copies for Kenyans to read? Why seek to popularise what no Kenyan has opposed? Those funds should be channeled to the Big Four Agenda," said the Malindi MP.
The sentiment by the outspoken MP comes almost one month since President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga extended the term of the BBI taskforce in office.
A number of events have been organised in several parts of the country to popularise the BBI report.
On Friday, Nyanza governors and other area leaders will converge in Kisii County to drum up support for the report.
A similar meeting has been planned in Western Kenya later this month.
