Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leader Isaac Ruto has said that the political outfit has no intentions of fielding a candidate in the 2022 presidential race.
In an interview on Kass FM on Thursday, Ruto said that they have plans to strengthen the political party but they are yet to think of the country's top seat.
He also said that the party aims at uplifting the lives of the tax payers through different ideologies.
“We are not intending to field a presidential candidate in 2022 but we want the party we shall join a coalition with, to implement our policies, which are about uplifting the people on the grassroots level,” he said.
He also said that he is currently holding talks with former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki so that he can take the position of secretary-general when they launch the party.
Ruto further revealed that the party will put in place different measures to ensure they are strong, in a bid to make them count in the upcoming polls.
“We are in talks with several leaders who want to join our CCM party. We are in talks with Buzeki who will be our secretary-general when we launch the party at the end of the year,” he said.
