Embattled Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary-general Wilson Sossion has promised never to leave the office.
Sossion said that he cannot be bribed to vacate the KNUT slot claiming such acts are only done by slay queens.
“There is nowhere I am going. Let them (TSC) use money [to entice the NEC members] as much as they wish, but I am going nowhere. I am not a Slay Queen to be exchanged for money," he said as quoted by K24.
The ODM nominated MP said he will not sway as the delegates wish.
Speaking at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, Sossion said KNUT’s National Executive Council (NEC) members have no powers to remove him from his position.
“I’m not quitting…I’m not quitting…and I cannot be removed, forget about it, no matter how much money they use, I am not on trial. I will only go home if the delegates say so,” said the vocal KNUT boss as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Sossion alleges that the pressure to see him out of office is being masterminded by Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and says such moves are illegal.
“Once more we urge TSC to obey the law…You’ll never select the KNUT SG, it will never happen. KNUT remains the union of choice for teachers in the country. All the propaganda and lies out there are cheap campaigns," he insisted.
