In a tweet on Saturday, the police said that the Somali national identified a Mr. Abdiwaahid Khalif Abdi alias Ise Tarabuun arrived in the country on 24, September, 2019.

"The National Police Service wishes to inform Mr. Abdiwaahid Khalif Abdi alias Ise Tarabuun whose photograph appears below, a Somali national believed to have arrived in Kenya on September 24th 2019 to report to the nearest police station with immediate effect. 1/2, " the tweet read.

It was not immediately clear why the order was issued.

Somalia is ravaged by terrorism fed by the Al-Shabaab, a ragtag terror group that has staged a number of attacks in Northeastern Kenya and the capital Nairobi.

Given the reality of terrorism in the neighbouring Somalia, the movement of Somali nationals into Kenya without clearance from the Kenyan authorities is bound to raise eyebrows.

Speculation is rife that the order for the Somali national to present himself to the authorities may have stemmed from real security concerns.

At the time of writing this article, the police had not yet shared with members of the press whether the Somali national had heeded the order.
