Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has affirmed that no amount of intimidation will make him change his stand as far as the 2022 politics are concerned.
Speaking to the press on Monday impending his arrest after a scuffle with Nominated MP Maina Kamanda at a church in Murang’a, Nyoro said that he will not sing the tune of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga in his backyard.
Nyoro said Raila, who is African Special Envoy, is not marketable in Mt Kenya region. He also noted that he is only fulfilling the will of the people of his home ground, adding that he has nothing personal with the Luo political kingpin. 'I cannot sell Raila in Murang'a by force, deal with the constituents,”Nyoro said.
The differences between Ndindi and Kamanda has caused mixed reactions from different factions.
Murang’a Catholic Bishop James Maria Wainaina has said that he wasn’t aware of the fundraiser that led to the drama. He also condemned the two leaders following the incident.
“It’s sad that such an incident happened in our church. I was not aware that there were guests invited to the church, only to hear through the media that chaos has erupted. It is saddening and very unfortunate and I have initiated investigations before taking action,” Bishop Wainaina said.
