Speaking from his Mombasa home on Saturday, Raila, who also doubles as African Union Special Envoy said the report is set to be released before the deadline.

He said they have plans to reach out to the people from different parts of the country upon the release of the report as they seek to build consensus over the issue.

The former Prime Minister reiterated that his unity with President Kenyatta, who is completing his second and final term in office, is committed towards attaining the Big Four Agenda.

Odinga further noted that the BBI report will be taken to the county assemblies and Parliament where there will be a debate before its determination.

“We will endeavour to ensure Kenyans reach a consensus and own the process before the Bill is taken to the county assemblies and Parliament because the will of the people is sovereign and final as provided for in the Constitution,” Raila said as quoted by Standard.

Odinga's remarks come at a time when former presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot is rooting for the adoption of the Punguza Mzigo Bill.
