Writing on Twitter on Tuesday, Mr Gachoka wondered what became of the plot as he asked a number of questions.

Tagging renowned blogger Dennis Itumbi, Tony Gachoka asked whether the architects of the assassination plot had been exposed and whether the deputy president faked the letter himself.

"@OleItumbi hi, Kenya is a very interesting place to live, what has happened to the much published plot to ‘kill’ DP Ruto at La Mada? was this exposed? Did Ruto write a fake assassination plot letter or not? are u in still in court? Rumour is more damage than good. @kipmurkomen, " the television show host's tweet read.

A few months ago, a letter said to carry claims of an assassination plot against the country's second in command surfaced.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launched investigations into the claims with Dennis Itumbi being arrested within days of the investigations.

Mr Itumbi faced charges of faking the said assassination letter, charges that he has strongly rejected.

He was released on a cash bail as investigations continued.

The deputy president has, by and large, remained silent on the matter with efforts to try to get him to weigh in on the issue yielding no fruits.
