Speaking on Wednesday on the 'Point Blank' program aired on the Kenya Television Network (KTN), the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader contended that the initiative whose report is being compiled by a committee would only succeed if it had the input of Kenyans across the political spectrum.

He went on to warn that any attempt to shove the proposals of the initiative down the throats of Kenyans would backfire as Kenyans would reject the initiative outright.

"If BBI listens to people’s opinions then it may work, but if they shove it down our throats because it creates opportunities for some people then it will fail, " the Machakos county boss said.

Governor Mutua vouched for a document that would put the ordinary Kenyan at the front and centre of the agenda.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, erstwhile political adversaries, will be given the BBI report before making it public to Kenyans.

Mr Odinga has been the greatest exponent of the BBI, calling on the Kenyans to reject the rival 'Punguza Mizigo' initiative

The BBI committee was formed after the president and the ODM supremo shook hands last year in a dramatic reversal of events after weeks of political unrest.
