This is after the DP was accused of threatening the life of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, who on Monday recorded a report with the police, claiming that his life is in danger.

Dida now says that the DP has found himself on the receiving end, with his allies having to battle the raised claims, after a long time of being on the side making similar allegations.

He cited Ruto's attacks on the ODM party last month, over claims that his ally Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was roughed up in Kibra, saying that it's now his camp's time to react.

"When Simba Arati (Dagoretti North MP) borrowed Didmus Barasa's cap, DP Ruto held countless rallies to condemn violence. He almost cried when the president laughed the whole thing off. The same DP now is threatening Gvn Alfred Mutua and his sycophants are all laughing!" he tweeted.

Mutua claims that he was threatened on two different occasions, by the DP and his allies; Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Garissa Town MP Aden Duale.

He says that the threats were made at the State House, with his offence being his stand against the DP's political moves, claims that have been dismissed by Duale and Murkomen.

Duale has hit out at the county boss, accusing him of using the wrong route to revive his dwindling political relevance.

"You will not gain relevance by shouting the names of leaders who have achieved more you can ever do. Focus on Machakos, Mutua. You can't use our names to increase your dwindling political shares in the village, we play a different league," he posted on Facebook.
