Teso County Education Board (CEB) has embarked on the probe into the matter after the shocking revelation. The students have since been interrogated over the items.

The administration has questioned several students in Form Four and lower classes as well as members of staff in a bid to determine how they sneaked the items to the school without the knowledge of the management.

Chakol Girls Principal Sellah Aketch has been put on the spot over the matter.

The John Shiundu-led board summoned the school head to the office of County Director of Education Thaddeus Awuor in Busia town where she was grilled for hours.

The board questioned the principal following the suspension of the students without its knowledge. In her defence, the principal said she decided to take the action to stop the students from influencing others.

Shiundi, however, said that the principal flouted the procedure after the incident.

“Our preliminary investigation shows that some other things were not done in accordance with the law that governs education by the management of the school,” said Shiundu, as quoted by Standard.

He also called upon school heads to stick to the regulations when delivering their mandate.
