Peter Tabichi, the Global Teacher Prize 2019 winner and a teacher at Keriko Mixed Day Secondary School, has congratulated fellow teacher Erick Ademba after winning the AU Continental Teacher Prize.
In a tweet on Friday afternoon, Tabichi hailed his fellow Kenyan teacher.
''It is a great honor to receive the UN in Kenya Person of the Year Award. I also want to congratulate Mr Erick Ademba for scooping the AU Continental Teacher Prize. Africa is a continent bursting with promise God bless us all,'' he said.
Tabichi was feted with the award on Thursday during the UN Day celebrations.
Erick Ademba is a teacher from Asumbi Girls Secondary School. He was nominated among the three best teachers for the coveted African Union Continental Teacher Prize.
Unlike Tabichi who received a total amount of Sh100 million for his price, Ademba received a cash reward of Sh1 million.
The two teachers have done Kenya proud after winning the two different coveted awards.
While Mr Ademba is a Mathematics and Chemistry teacher, Mr Tabichi is a Mathematics and Physics teacher.
The two teachers have become role models and inspiration to society both in the country and outside the country.
Their prestigious awards will certainly make other teachers in the country to work even hard to also get recognized.
