This happened while the county boss who had spent the night at the hotel, was trying to ensure that the tea was safe before he could take it.

According to a client who witnessed the incident, Sonko insisted that the hotel boss and chef take sips of the tea, which they finally agreed to, taking two sips each.

"The hotel chef and manager had to take two mouthfuls in front of him before to confirm the food was safe,” said the client who was at the hotel at the same time.

The county boss is not new to drama, which has in some instances landed him in trouble with fellow politicians, a part from bashing from Kenyans on social media.

Two months ago, he landed in trouble for humiliating Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris during the Madaraka Day celebrations in Nairobi, after telling her he is not her husband.

He was also among Kenyan leaders who were seen sleeping on the tarmark while accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to the Hague, Netherlands.

The two were attending the hearing of their cases against humanity at the International Criminal Court.
