Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire on Sunday continued with his onslaught against Deputy President William Ruto as 2022 presidential race nears.
Dr Ruto has intensified his campaigns at Bosire's Gusii backyard with a number of his allies promising a tough battle on Saturday.
"DP Ruto has had many development trips to Kisii and Nyamira more than anybody. It's an open secret that nobody will defeat him," West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi said on Saturday at Gesusu.
While Raila has remained mum about President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession, a team in Gusii allied to him is pushing for entry of Dr Fred Matiang'i into national politics.
And on Sunday, Bosire said Dr Ruto cannot beat Mr Odinga in a fair presidential race, adding that Ruto's support base is limited to Rift Valley alone.
"To win an election, you must have a national appeal. It's not a secret that he (Ruto) has a support base only in Rift Valley. He cannot beat Raila in a fair race," he said.
Mr Bosire, who doubles as ODM treasurer, accused Dr Ruto of launching ghost projects in Nyamira, pointing out at Kemera-Amabuko road among others.
For the last one year, Dr Ruto has toured Nyamira County and the neighbouring Kisii for over 20 times. He enjoys support from most MPs.
