Activities within the county government of Nyamira still remain stable despite advertisment of all ten positions for ministers, Governor Nyagarama has said.
A fortnight ago, Nyagarama shocked his cabinet after announcing for applications for County Executive Committee posts, despite active contracts for the current ones.
This means that he effectively sacked those in office given that their contracts were set to expire on November 2nd, after which fresh applications were to be made.
Through County Secretary Eric Onchana, Nyagarama said those in office can still continue performing their tasks despite the advertisement to fill their positions.
"Everything is going on well and there is no crisis. Those on office shall continue executing their roles until the new team takes over," he said.
"And those in office but are still interested in serving can still do applications to the Ad-hoc committee. They can be considered too," he added.
All interested people have until October 11th to make fresh applications for considerations. Successful candidates will be shortlisted for vetting.
North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko accused the governor of running the county like his property, arguing that the advertisement was unnecessary.
"You can't advertise positions that are not vacant. Even if they remain in office, the morale will be too low. The governor should stop running the county like his personal property," he said.
