Prominent politicians have condoled with the family of the former presidential contender Peter Kenneth following the demise of his mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni.
Wambui passed on while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on Thursday, according to family sources.
Taking to social media to express their condolence messages, the leaders prayed for the family to get strength and God's comfort as they mourn the departed.
"My condolences go out to Peter Kenneth following the passing on of his Mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni. May God grant him and the family strength and fortitude at this trying moment and may her soul rest in eternal peace. Poleni kwa msiba," tweeted ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Terming Kenneth as his friend, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa prayed for him and asked God to help his family to overcome the loss.
"My sincere heartfelt condolences to my friend Hon Peter Kenneth following the demise of his dear mother, Mama Rahab Wambui. May our Almighty God comfort and strengthen you and your family during this difficult moment," remarked Wamalwa.
"My thoughts are with the family and friends of Hon. Peter, Kenneth on the passing of their matriarch, Mama Rahab Wambui. May she rest in peace," posted Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris.
The former Gatanga MP vied for the presidency in 2013 and for Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2017 polls.
He is served as an Assistant Minister during retired President Mwai Kibaki's government.
