Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala has warned Western Kenya politicians allied to deputy president William Ruto from holding a meeting parallel to the Saturday's BBI forum at Bukhungu stadfium.
The lawmaker was speaking during preparation for Saturday's BBI consultative event at Bukhungu stadium on Wednesday.
In a video shared by ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale,Malala alleged that they had agreed with the organizers of the BBI consultative function that they would have one political meeting in the county on the material day.
The vocal senator vowed not to allow any event to be held elsewhere in Kakamega apart from the Bukhungu meeting.
"As a senator,I will not allow their meeting to be held.There will be only one meeting which would be in Bukhungu stadium (Mimi kama senator sitaruhusu mkutano wao ufanyike.Mkutano ni mmoja na mkutano ni Bukhungu stadium)," said Malala.
Malala further hit out on the former Ikolomani legislator Boni Khalwale, Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali and Sports ex-CS Rashid Echesa for planning to hold another function that would concur with the one they were organizing.
He dared the leaders to attend the Bukhungu meeting and behave mischievously.
On Saturday, leaders from Western Kenya will converge at Bukhungu stadium in Lurambi constituency, Kakamega county in a bid to gather views from Kenyans on the recently-released Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
A similar event was held in Bungoma on Sunday which was attended by a host of leaders including COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli and Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
However,the meeting caused sharp divisions among leaders from the region with Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula and ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi claiming that not all leaders were consulted.
